She Has Arrived!

Sadie Grayce King decided to enter this world Sunday, June 24th at 1:38pm. I was only in labor for eight hours from start to finish, so God is good. :) She weighed 6 pounds and 14 ounces. She is 19 inches long. We all adore her head full of jet black hair. Damian and I are blessed and are living on cloud nine.

Baby Update Two

Two weeks left? According to the doctor, everything is holding steady. I am still one centimeter dialated and Sadie hasn't dropped any. The doctor said that there is a big baby girl in me. At the hospital, Sadie was a little lazy. She was supposed to move around for the non-stress test, but she would rather lay still. The nurse had to keep shaking my belly just to get Sadie to roll around. On the biophysical test she was supposed to be practicing her breathing, but she decided to just lay around instead. She is still healthy and growing, but it doesn't look like we will be able to see her anytime soon. Damian and I are using the extra time to get everything in the house settled and ready for her arrival. Thank goodness we finally got the car seat, the bobby, and apparently everything else that was in Babies R Us! :)

Baby Shower with Friends

On June 16, a shower was thrown for Sadie in St. Augustine. Antoinette, a good friend, planned the entire event and seemed to escape capture by our camera. The food spread was delicious thanks to many hands that prepared the tuna casserole, meatballs, potato salad, etc.

The cake was beautiful and perfectly matches the blanket that Damian and I have purchased for Sadie.
The kids finished all of their food and had fun playing on the balcony.
The games were "close and personal." You had to get the clothes pins off of your competitor before he/she got the clothes pins off of you. Jen and Jen seemed to laugh a lot more than play the game. Sadie's Grandma and Aunt Season also competed in this game. Grandma was victorious.
The presents were more than we could have hoped for. With this gift, Damian is ready for tea parties!

Won't Damian have fun putting Sadie in all these dresses? Pink is the color!

This plaque is going to hang above Sadie's crib. If you can't see it in the picture, it says, "I am a dream come true." This was a gift from Sadie's Grandma and Papa.

Sadie's Aunt Lauren and cousin Tristan seem to be having fun. Aunt Lauren is also getting ready to give Sadie another cousin about two months after Sadie is here with us.

Sadie's cousin Blayze (front) has made instant friends with Matthew. They had a great time playing red light/green light and swimming in the pool together.

Damian and I want to thank everyone who helped make this shower a success. The food was amazing, and the games were VERY entertaining. We hope that all of you had a great time, just like we did.

Baby Update

With two and a half weeks left until the due date (July 4th), here is the official doctor update. We are one centimeter dialated. Woo-hoo! We also know that this means nothing. :) I could stay here forever it seems. We went to the hospital for a BBP - sorry, forgot what it stands for - and a Non Stress Test (testing to see how the baby is doing) thanks to the gestational diabetes. Little Sadie is doing great. She is practicing her breathing, has a great heartbeat, is moving around (more like rolling around), but has a big head. Which side of the family is that from? They are estimating that her weight is around seven pounds and four ounces. Translation: this can be one HUGE baby (gaining about 8 ounces a week) if she stays inside me for much longer. This means . . . here I come treadmill.

9 Months

Here is the official nine month picture. As you can see, Sadie is definitely getting bigger and I, of course, haven't changed a bit. :) Damian is still his handsome self. (Can you believe that we still have four weeks until the due date?)

Baby Shower at Church

My mom, Sadie's Ma'Maw, (with the help of my dad, Sadie's Pa'Paw) threw us a baby shower at church last night. Damian and I had a great time with all of the ladies.

Here is the set-up.

Isn't the little napkin diaper adorable. During the night, one lady discovered that she had a "dirty diaper." There were raisins in her diaper, along with some mints.

The food spread was more than enough to fill you up. From veggies to mini subs and potato salad to salmon rolls - YUM! Don't forget the deviled eggs.

The cake was beautiful and delicious. Thank goodness I won't need all the booties shown!

Playing games . . .

Thank you to everyone who was a part of this shower! Damian and I appreciate all that you have done for us.

Thank you Mom and Dad!

P.S. - The email list has diappeared. Please see the post below and email us so that we can add you to our list.

Getting Ready

As Damian and I are getting ready for the big day, we realized that we need to confirm and collect email addresses from our friends and family. If you want to receive an email when Sadie arrives, please email us at kingresorts@hotmail.com so that we can add you to our distribution list. We don't know how long it will be before we get to a phone after the birth, so email and Sadie's blog will be our contact to the rest of the world. :) Thank you!

P.S. - She is still holding steady. The doctor says she is meauring exactly to her weeks, so we probably still have a while to go.
