Sadie's New Cousin

Sadie's Uncle Jamin and Aunt Lauren had a baby last weekend. On Sunday, August 26, Gavin was born. Isn't he adorable. Congratulations!

A Weekend of Firsts

This weekend, Sadie experienced many firsts. On Friday, she received her first shots - three of them. After that bad experience, she went to Ma'Maw and Pa'Paw's house for her first sleepover. They said that she was good. She even slept from 11pm to 6am. That is a great night for her. On Saturday, Damian bought her first swimsuit. We took her to the pool that evening and she didn't fuss a bit. We spent the night on the beach at our timeshare, and Sadie loved sitting on the balcony listening to the ocean. That was the only way we could get her to sleep that night.

Dedication Day

On Sunday, August 12, we dedicated Sadie to God. She was outfitted in her Ma'Maw Guthrie's crocheted dress. The dress was made for Ma'Maw when she was born. Oddly enough, the dress was made by a woman named Sadie. Ma'Maw and Mommy (me) wore this dress for our dedications. Sadie is the third generation in the dress. For dedication, we had family stand with us. Uncle Billy, Ma'Maw, Pa'Paw, Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Bev, Aunt Season, and Uncle Jamie were all in attendance to dedicate Sadie. Pa'Paw sang a song to Sadie and prayed over her. As you can see in the first picture, Sadie is in her favorite spot, Mommy's shoulder. It is the only position that kept her from crying throughout the dedication. She was a hungry baby at the time. It was a great day for all of us.

Four Generations

Sadie's Great-Grandma came into town this week to visit. We were able to get a picture of the four generations. Sadie has a great heritage.
